East Portal 2/15/97 The Ski Train pauses momentarily before entering the Moffat Tunnel on a frigid winter day back in 1997.
East Portal 2/15/97 That's snow blowing by the locomotive. I literally had to kneel down to steady the camera to get this shot. East Portal can be an interesting place in winter!
Tunnel 12 6/2/01 DRGW 5342 is the sole locomotive on a four-car pile-driver M.O.W. train. This wasn't the best location to be at to shoot this train, but I was caught by surprise when I heard it coming down the canyon. I posted a couple shots of the M.O.W. cars in the Miscellaneous Photos section.
East Portal 2/15/97 It's February 1997, and you can still see DRGW motive power on coal trains. This was taken just east of East Portal on the same day as the Ski Train pix above.

Coal Creek Canyon 2/19/01 DRGW 5390 and 5356 lead the MDVRO train into Coal Creek Canyon. The sun is just setting behind the mountains, and the shadows were literally creeping up to the train as it was approaching.
